American Girl Dolls

It was only a matter of time since American Girl retired Samantha Parkington, that they would announce their newest Historical Doll.

Rebecca Rubin will be debuted on May 31st, 2009 at the New York City American Girl Place.

Rebecca is a Russian Jewish immigrant living in a row house in New York City’s Lower East side during the early 20th century. Although Rebecca dreams of being an actress, her family has other ideas.

Rebecca’s story will also be revealed in 6 books that will be released the same day. The books are being authored by Jacqueline Dembar Greene.  On May 31st Ms Greeene will also be on hand at the NYC store for a book signing.
